Day 1: Vienna
Welcome to your tour with Europamundo! We’ll transfer you to the hotel and you’ll have some free time. In the afternoon, you’ll find information about the start of your tour on the boards located at the hotel reception.
Day 2: Vienna
In the morning, we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, during which we’ll discover its majestic avenues, impressive palaces, elegant parks, and charming historic center. At nightfall, we’ll have a transfer to the Town Hall Square, where you can admire the beautiful illumination and enjoy the lively evening atmosphere of the surrounding streets.
Day 3: Vienna - Dürnstein - Melk - Linz
Today we will tour the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, always following the course of the Danube. Our first stop will be KREMS, a charming town on the banks of the Danube, known for its medieval old town. After that, along a small road following the Danube, we will reach DURNSTEIN, a picturesque medieval village on the banks of the Danube, surrounded by vineyards and green hills, and famous for the ruins of the castle where Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned.We will then continue along the Danube Valley to MELK, where you will have time for lunch before visiting the majestic Benedictine Abbey. Admission to Melk Abbey is included—a Baroque jewel with its extraordinary library, the Marble Hall, and its beautiful gardens.We will continue our route with a brief stop in ST. FLORIAN, to admire the exterior of its impressive abbey. Arrival in LINZ will be in the mid-afternoon, the third-largest city in Austria, on the banks of the Danube. We suggest strolling through the historic center and its lively Hauptplatz.
Day 4: Linz - Gmunden - St. Wolfgang - Salzburg
Today will be the “day of the lakes,” filled with beautiful landscapes and picturesque small towns. We’ll depart for GMUNDEN, on the shores of Lake Traunsee, surrounded by mountains and elegant 19th-century villas. Here, we’ll enjoy a cruise on Lake Traunsee (approximate duration: 1 hour). We disembark in Ebensee and continue our route to ST WOLFGANG, one of the most picturesque villages in Austria, located on the shores of Lake Wolfgangsee and a famous pilgrimage site. Its narrow streets, alpine façades, and charming cafés invite you to discover it at leisure. You’ll have free time for lunch and a stroll. We then continue to SALZBURG, where we’ll arrive around 4:00 p.m. Free afternoon in this UNESCO World Heritage city, boasting a perfectly preserved Baroque old town, medieval squares, Renaissance churches, and an imposing fortress; it is also the birthplace of Mozart.
Day 5: Salzburg - SALZWELTEN MINES - ZELL AM SEE - Krimml falls - Innsbruck
Today will be the “day of the mountain landscapes.” We’ll set off for SALZWELTEN, the largest salt mines in Austria, where we’ll take the tour (underground train and boat ride on the saline lake included). Afterwards, through the mountains, we’ll head to ZELL AM SEE, a charming town on a lake surrounded by alpine peaks, with a historic center and a medieval tower. You’ll have free time to stroll and have lunch. We’ll then continue to the KRIMML waterfalls (admission included), in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park; with a total drop of 380 m over three tiers, they are the highest in Austria and among the most impressive in Europe. We proceed to INNSBRUCK, the capital of Tyrol, nestled among mountains and featuring a delightful pedestrian center where the famous Golden Roof stands out.
Day 6: Innsbruck - Zugspitze - Feldkirch
Day 7: Feldkirch - Lake Constance - Lindau - Munich
Day 8: Munich - Fussen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
Amidst alpine summits and breathtaking scenery, we’ll travel to FÜSSEN and the Neuschwanstein Castle. We’ll take a bus to Mary’s Bridge to admire the fantastic views of the gorge. From here, you can either return on foot or by horse carriage (not included). Continuing along our Romantic Road, we’ll head to ROTHENBURG, a picturesque walled city where we’ll visit the beautiful Christmas Museum (admission included). We’ll then head to FRANKFURT, Germany’s financial capital.
Day 9: Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Dortmund
Today, we’ll explore the Rhine and Moselle Valleys, two rivers full of history and dotted with charming villages. We´ll begin with a short cruise on the Rhine, between the villages of RÜDESHEIM and SANKT GOAR, undoubtedly the most picturesque section of the river. Next, we’ll head to the Moselle River, stopping for lunch in COCHEM, a picturesque village on the Rhine riverbank overlooked by its imposing castle, which dates back over a thousand years. Afterward, we’ll travel to COLOGNE, where you´ll have time to visit its impressive Gothic cathedral. Standing at 154 meters tall, it was the tallest building in the world until the late 19th century. You can also enjoy a walk along the Rhine River and through the lively city center before we continue to our hotel in DORTMUND.Note: During fairs or congresses, accommodation may be in a nearby city.
Day 10: Dortmund - Fairy Tale Route - Hannover
Today, we’ll embark on a magical journey, reminiscing about our favorite childhood stories and movies as we travel through the towns that inspired the Brothers Grimm, now known as the Fairy Tale Route. Our first stop will be TRENDELBURG, a picturesque walled village where we’ll visit the large medieval castle and its famous Rapunzel Tower (admission included).We’ll continue along scenic roads, crossing forests that will remind us of the tale of Hansel and Gretel. We’ll stop for lunch in HÖXTER, a vibrant town where we’ll visit Corvey Abbey, an ancient 9th-century monastery and World Heritage Site (admission included). We’ll then stop in POLLE to visit the ruins of Cinderella’s Castle (admission included). Our journey will continue to HAMELIN, renowned for the tale of “The Pied Piper of Hamelin”. After following the mouse tracks, we’ll proceed to HANOVER, where there will be time to take a stroll near the old town hall.Notes:-During fairs or conferences, accommodation may be arranged in a nearby city.-Corvey Abbey is closed from November to February.
Day 11: Hannover - Goslar - Berlin
After breakfast, we continue the route to GOSLAR; We are in one of the most beautiful villages of GERMANY, with its wooden architecture, its walls, its squares. Time to walk. We travel to QUEDLINBURG, a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO due to its fascinating historic center of more than 2100 half-timbered girder houses that have managed to survive almost unscathed for centuries. It also noteworthy its town hall and castle. Time for lunch. Continuation to BERLIN. Arrival in the afternoon. Free time.
Day 12: Berlin
Immerse yourself in the local culture with a guided panoramic tour of BERLIN, the captivating capital of GERMANY. We’ll see the historic center, Museum Island, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, the shopping streets and the city’s beautiful parks. Our visit will also include stops at the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum. For an optional excursion, you can visit Potsdam and its stunning palaces.
Day 13: Berlin
After breakfast, our journey will come to an end, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
